OBJECTIVE: To make curly hair, and tube it.
Paint Shop Pro 7
Open a new image, 376 X 376, 16 million colors, with transparent background.
Now go to: View/Change Grid and Guide Properties.
Change the Horizontal and Vertical Spacing to 75.
Now go to: View click on grid. This will add the guidelines needed to make our hair tube.
Your grid will have five rows across, and five down. So, you will need five different colors.
The colors I have are:
#6B542F, #907448, #986F2E, #815A1D, #C19A25.
Here they all are:
Click on the draw tool ..
Set your foreground (stroke) to #6B542F, and your background (fill) to null.
Begin making small curls in each square, put each color in a separate row. Alternating the colors.
Change your foreground (stroke) to #907448, continue making curls.
Change your foreground (stroke) to #986F2E, continue making curls.
Change your foreground (stroke) to #815A1D, continue making curls.
Change your foreground (stroke) to #C19A25, continue making curls.
When you are done filling up all the squares, then, go to: View, and click on grid to remove the guide on the graphics.
Now, you will want to tube it, so that you can use it to make your hair.
Go to File/Export/Picture Tube. In the drop down box fill in this information:
Cells Across: 5, Cells Down: 5, Total Cells should read: 25. Placement Mode: Continuous, Step Size: 100, Selection Mode: Incremental, Tube Name: what ever you want to name it.
You're done.. now, go out and start making graphics and use that hair tube.
Go ahead and save in .psp. Saving in psp format will save all of the layers. Then, keep it in a file in case you ever need it again.
